'The Cat Returns'
I just saw a very interesting anime film called 'The Cat Returns'. Contrary to the sound of the title, it isn't really a sequel to anything. Two of the characters (Muta and the Baron) were originally from an anime short, which doesn't have much to do with the movie (although I haven't actually seen it.
The movie is about a 17 year old girl named Haru, who rescues a cat from getting hit by a truck. As it turns out, that cat happens to be the only son of the Cat King, king of Cat Kingdom. As a reward for saving the prince, Haru is kidnapped by the cats and taken to Cat Kingdom to be Prince Lune's bride. Coming to her rescue are cats Muta and the Baron.
It is very entertaining. At times it is also rather disturbing, but still funny. They captured the cat attitude fairly well.
Voices are done by Anne Hathaway, Cary Elwes, Peter Boyle, Tim Curry, and others I can't remember.
