my head is on fire, but my legs are fine

I got a cool A Wrinkle in Time postcard, but the signature was obscured, so I'm not sure which kind soul sent it to me! Many thanks to the sender for thinking of me. And
viridian5 sent a terrific Pride card, with a little packet of confetti inside (a nicer delivery than my having to get it out of the carpet) *g*

More proof that cats are the absolute best!

Work was busy in a weird way - at first it didn't seem like things would be too challenging, but there were lots of new applications, and stuff kept accumulating. I never did see Em3, or hear from her - I don't really *need* her to properly do my job, but it would sure be nice to know if/when she would come in,in case callers want to know. I got a lot (but not everything) done, and gave up about an hour later than I'd hoped to leave; but things are in semi-decent shape for Thursday, so that's nice.

All hail the God of Mischief (and Breakfast) - The Prince of Asgard decided to steal Lucky the Leprechaun’s iconic cereal. To celebrate the release of Loki, Lucky Charms is releasing a very special version of the classic cereal. Starting at 11 a.m. ET on June 9, the same day Loki debuts on Disney+, fans will have a chance to nab a box of Loki Charms.

The cereal will go on sale at MischievouslyDelicious.com beginning on June 9. But only 3,500 boxes of Loki Charms will be available to purchase

Question of the Day
What's the longest hotel stay you've ever had?
I don't do hotels often. most of my hotel stays have been for cons, and usually shorter - generally several nights at most. I did have one slightly longer stay, Washington DC around 1988, when I went with a friend for a NAMES Project display and a little touristing. I think that was about a week; it was fun, but exhausting (though part of that was the high-energy friend)

Not being given the choice to opt-in to major changes always pisses me off. I don't have Alexa, Ring or Echo, but this might be of interest to some folks: Some Amazon devices will start sharing your internet connection with neighbors. - Connecticut Attorney General William Tong warned consumers that Amazon will automatically connect their smart home devices and products to a new shared network called "Amazon Sidewalk" on June 8.

This article provides more info on just what this means, and how to opt-out of (or limit involvement in) Sidewalk. Your Echo is now sharing your internet with your neighbors. Here’s how to opt out. Where the (Amazon) Sidewalk ends.

I don't tend to hang out where I hear things get most rancorous (tumblr, I'm looking at you), but this struck a chord, as I've heard enough to agree So.Damn.Hard! This, ten thousand times. The people you call problematic carried you here on their shoulders. Some of y'all baby gays REALLY need to read this lmao

The Oregon Zoo dumped a bunch of wood shaving bedding from the goat enclosure into the lions' pen - I'm not sure why they got the idea, but the lions liked it, a lot. They roll around in it like housecats do in catnip. The male's mane really holds on to it! :) rolling around in it

When I got home from work I called mom - it'd been a couple days since we talked, and it was the folks' anniversary. She didn't mention it (and neither did I) but although it was boring as hell, listening to her for an hour seemed like a thoughty thing to do. Apparently a new neighbor asked her if she'd thought about remarrying, which surprised her as they aren't on a real confidence status, but she got the impression that he wasn't so much curious about her answer as related to *her* but was maybe mulling over stuff for himself. Not sure how long ago he was widowed, but maybe he's trying to figure out what he might want to do in the future. (Spoiler - she's really not interested, and not just because it's been only 15 months since dad died)
