mystery garden. . .

On a happier note I finally figured out that the green things I planted in my garden are arugula and can now be eaten! lol - I started out so good labeling all the seeds I started but then with the somewhat impatient help of the little man, we just transplanted all the seedlings and I forgot to then label the plants once in the ground. So I have something of a mystery garden happening with a few of the plants. The carrots and green beans and squash are pretty easy to identify but there are some others I had no idea what the actual plant was; could have been spinach, arugula, catmint or who knows what other seeds I started. But the spinach finally is starting to look like spinach and the arugula was identified with some google image help - phew. So I guess I'll be having some of that in a salad for lunch since I'm too lazy to go to the store. And man is it a gorgeous day outside and sheesh do I have some work to get done . . .

I've been able to stay organic so far but now it's time to bite the bullet and buy some pyola for pests and other organic fungicide as I'm seeing some spots on my tomato plants. I need to make them a trellis too and I'm procrastinating on work again aren't I? okay lunch, then back to work. . . oh and the compost is interesting. No matter how much stuff I put in the composter it never gets any higher than a certain level - freaky but I suppose that's good as it seems to be breaking down pretty well. no really, back to work. . .
