One year ago, Michaella Krajicek thrilled her home crowd by winning the Ordina Open, but the woman she beat for the title was the one that stopped her from repeating this year; Russia's Dinara Safina got her revenge at 's-Hertogenbosch, ousting the Dutch teen in the round of 16, 64 36 64.
The No.4-seeded Safina served just that littie bit better than Krajicek in what turned out to be a two-hour, 27-minute thriller, blasting 14 aces to 10 for her opponent and grabbing the third set break; the breaks of serve were few and far between, with just one per set.

"Dinara played really well today," Krajicek stated after the match. "I tried to get everything out of the match that I could, but it didn't work out for me."

While Krajicek won their first meeting in the final here a year ago, Safina has completely taken over their head-to-head series since, winning in straight sets earlier this year at Paris [Indoors], Antwerp and Amelia Island, and now moving ahead 4-1 against her young rival with the three set win here.
