OMG seriously OMG it worked. After one time it was practically failsafe in the most overthethreshold instances possible.

I took Stella for her mid-day walk and had to do an errand twelve blocks away on the avenue but decided to take the preferred meandering route up through the park instead of along the avenue which she is not as find of. During off leash hours the squirrels know to keep scarce but middle of the day they are busy on the ground all through the wooded areas. Stella was in her harness and on her long leash and I decided if she spotted a squirrel and was going bananas about chasing it... If I called her name in the midst of her frenzy and she actually turned to look at me I would let go of the leash and release her to chase the squirrel. First time I kinda barked her name at her and she whiplash turned to look at me and then could not BELIEVE her GOOD FORTUNE when I gave her permission to chase.

But the OMG amazing part is for the next twenty minutes while we were in squirrel territory every time she saw one she whiplash turned to look at me for permission. I can not believe this. How could I have not tried this before. And when I whistled she came flying back. What fun.

Of course I had to pick my spots. Not near the inner road or outer road where it could be dangerous.

Should I thank Frankie or Susan or Sylvia or all three? All three !!!
