"virginia is for gun lovers"

The husband who has never been a big fan of guns wrote this column yesterday for today's paper...

He's headed to the horrible aftermath scene in Virginia, probably getting there just about now. He leaves us just as the washing machine doesn't really work, the car sounds like a hot rod and has to go into the shop tomorrow, the cable box is mysteriously kaput, which means no TV at all and only dial-up internet and someone is going to have to wait for the cable guy, ants are invading the kitchen big time, and something seems to be not so good with our 17 year-old cat, plus the kid had a major teenage meltdown this morning which caused me to lose it. But, I am not complaining. I have talked to my college kid on the phone and she sounds good, busy, happy and the middle school kid will be home in a couple of hours and I will apologize and we will figure it all out. Anyway, as the husband gave me the goodbye kiss, he warned me, "I don't think you wanna wear your glock shirt for while." (A souvenir T-shirt he got me from his visit to a gun show that I journaled about along with my twisted pride in my older kid's steady hand and sharp eye at a forensic shooting range.) Then he added, "That guy used a glock."
