i hold back the night and i open the skies

Guess who saw the Celtic Woman concert for the third time last night?! Clare came with us this time. I was really excited that she could come, since she missed the concert last year.

It was really good. Even though Meav quit, Lisa's off having a baby, and David Downes was mysteriously not there, it was really, really good. New Lisa's voice wasn't anywhere near as ridiculously perfect as Real Lisa's, but she was good. I actually think that it might have been good that Lisa wasn't there this time, so the other singers got a chance to stand out. Especially Chloe! My parents and I agree that she seemed a lot more confident this time around. Also, Replacement Music Director seemed to have told them to make their performance a little more energetic, which was exciting.
Also, I thought it was interesting how much the audience seemed to love Violin Girl (aka Mairead) this time around. Usually the audience is impatient for the singing to start up again, but it seemed like Violin Girl was the favorite this time around!
The concert was at the First Mariner Arena this time, though, instead of the Hippodrome. It was kind of like having the concert in a really, really big school gym instead of an actual fancy theatre place. But still. As long as you didn't pay too much attention to the giant Baltimore Blast banners hanging above the stage you hardly noticed the difference at all, lol.

clare, music, celtic woman, spring break
