So lately I've been obsessed with the MTV show "Catfish" which is based off the documentary with the same title from a few years back.
The show revolves around people who meet and fall in love with somebody online, but for some reason the person that they fall in love with never wants to meet up, talk on the phone, or skype. Most of the time it turns out the person they were talking to wasn't even real. It's actually amazingly hilarious in a "guilty pleasure" kind of way.
It kind of got me thinking about how many of the people I've become friends with online since 2004 are who they say they are... Thankfully I've never been in love with any of them, but I am willing to bet at least somebody I have had daily contact with was a liar. It's all very interesting to me.
