One of my favourite films is a very early Oscar winner: It Happened One Night.
Ellie (Claudette Colbert) is a spoiled heiress who's on the run from her wealthy father and trying to reach her quickie marriage husband. She ends up travelling across the US via Greyhound bus and one of her fellow passengers is Peter Warne (Clark Gable), a reporter. Peter recognises her and insists on helping in exchange for a juicy story about her runaway marriage. Of course they fall in love.
Despite its age and the faded quality of the film, this is a fun film to watch. People may dress, talk, and travel differently but they really don't change much and the film stands up today as a solid romance.
