Now this is a cool idea. A company called Suitable Technologies is
offering a completely mobile robotic device called the Beam that allows employees who work remotely to be "at the office".
Equipped with a video screen, conferencing features, state-of-the-art speakers, and a highly sensitive microphone, the Beam can be driven around an office and give a remote employee more of a physical presence. They aren't cheap -- a Beam will set you back over $16,000.
Of course, they will have to ensure that the Beam has top-notch communications security or the device will become one of the best tools ever for corporate espionage.
Now about those flying cars . . .
