The Holy Grail of Security? Not Quite.
Over the past decade, there has been an explosion of interest in biometric security devices since passwords, keys, and other conventional security methods all have their flaws. The iris scan, which identifies people from the pattern of blood vessels in the eye, has long been considered to be among the most secure of biometrics. But new research suggests that the iris scan may not be as secure as people think. As with computers, cell phones, portable electronics charging stations, and aerial drones, iris scans can be vulnerable to hackers.
