Our Hearts Go Out To Aurora, Colorado
Due to the tragic shootings in Aurora, Colorado last night, I won't be posting Science Friday stories today. Whatever is appropriate to your belief system, please take a moment to say a prayer or meditate or reflect on what has happened and keep the victims and their families in your thoughts.
This thing has me rattled and I'm finding it more than a little creepy. There seems to be absolutely nothing in this guy's background that would indicate he would be the type to suddenly go berzerk. In fact, given his background, he's far more likely to have been a victim of violence than a perpetrator of it. Even by the standards of "senseless violence", this whole thing makes absolutely no sense at all.
And then it turns out he was a brilliant student and researcher in . . . neuroscience and human behavior, of all things?
