Absolutely beautiful, and well-written. It has a very dreamy quality to it, which I love.

Thank you! You did a beautiful job creating the sense of a dream -- each scene is so vivid with description and at the same time is time-disjointed and non-linear. It was fun watching you pick up and weave in the cast of xxxHolic -- maybe the whole thing is Haruka's dream, after all!

I loved this description:

He was very tall and very thin, sharp-cornered and still, as if he balanced daily and calmly on the edge of a razor until the thought of falling no longer even occurred to him

but this is probably my favorite sentance, with the alliteration and the sun "walking":

"But she seemed a little brighter from his borrowed breath, stood a little straighter, and it was both easier and less messy than offering blood, so he lit another cigarette and stood in companionable silence on the dead magician's porch as the clouds cleared from a steady wind and the sun walked across the sky."

Ah, thank you very much! ^__^

(Odd how so many stories ended up about Haruka.)

This is truly beautiful. I love the dreamy quality to it, and your descriptions, as always, are amazing. I am also going to comment on the description as if he balanced daily and calmly on the edge of a razor until the thought of falling no longer even occurred to him. It seems to convey both power, poise and appearance. Skillful.
I love your depiction of Haruka's kindness, which is not the soft thing many people think of as kindness but has its edges and has strength in it like a steel core.
Thank you very much for your writing.
