Fay never imagined he would ever again see a peaceful night like this one. He tried to remember when the last one was, but all he could remember was blood, fights, and moments he preferred to be forgotten.
It was not hot, nor cold, and the stars could be perfectly seen, as well as the moon, round and brilliant. Fay discovered flying insects floating around them, which emanated a light glow.
“What are these?” Fay pointed to one of them.
“Glow-Worms….”
“There are a lot of them…” The golden-eye scared some the glows that were at his side.
“Yeah.” Silence prevailed for some moments after that. Fay looked everywhere, small glows flew around them. Then his eyes met Kurogane’s bionic arm.
“Do you like it?” Fay asked, looking at it. He thought it sounded rude the way he asked, but he had to know that the ninja was not mad at him. He had to know Kurogane did not regret sacrificing his arm for his life.
“I can’t complain.” Fay didn’t expect that answer. He was afraid to look at Kurogane’s face.
“Can you feel with this arm?” he asked while passing his hand through his forearm.
“No...” Fay was stunned with that answer. He lowered his face, to hide the tears that began to well up. Is it possible for a person to make two stupid questions in less than a minute? Kurogane lifted Fay’s face with his right hand. “It’s just an arm…doesn't have much importance,” the once mage managed to smile.
That answer was enough for him. He leaned at his left arm and grabbed it. He knew Kurogane would not feel, thus he wouldn’t complain about it. Or at least that was what he had told him.
“They look so cute together! Ohohoho! Are they always so affectionate?” Tomoyo, asked looking at the scene.
“Kurogane-san and Fay-san really care for one another!” Mokona exclaimed
“You finally found the meaning of true strength, Kurogane,” Tomoyo thought aloud
“Did you say something, hime?” Souma asked her, looking to where she stood.
“No, nothing...” Tomoyo smiled.
“These things are annoying!” Fay cried out, getting everyone’s attention, which made Kurogane blush.
Meanwhile, in a far away dimension…
“They should have already returned, Kakei…” Saiga seemed worried. This time Kakei’s mission was a bit complicated, but not impossible.
“Don’t worry about them…they are together, they can protect each other...” Kakei said to calm him, offering him to sit at his side. Saiga accepted without protest.
“You mean Rikou can protect Kazahaya…” he muttered into Kakei’s ear
“Most likely.”
“I’m starting to believe those two took advantage of the situation! They are hiding from us! They don’t trust us!”
“If that were the case, it’ll be shyness, that’s all, besides, they are beginning to realize...”
“What?! That they are meant to be together? I realized that we were fated to be together when I first saw you…” Saiga tighten his embrace.
“Oh, give them some time… with all these missions one of them will give in.”
“If that doesn’t happen, are we allowed to interfere?” Saiga began to kiss the other man.
“That won’t happen…”
