no fic *today*

So you know how I missed about ALL of my ficcish due dates (see side bar if you have any questions, and then LOL)? Well, I kinda maybe signed up for spn_reversebang the other day :\ I'm totally doing it, 'cause I'm not going to back out of ANY MORE WRITING CHALLENGES, but it's also a minimum of 5k, so it's not as strenuous as the other things I *had* anticipated on doing.

Also, way after I get my challenge written, I might try my hand at a Losers fic. I don't ... okay, I know nothing about the comic that the movie is based off of. All's I know is that I kinda fell *hard* for Cougar ... and by extension Jensen/Cougar. All's I know the second: there is a dirth of hurt!Cougar fic (it's a primarily hurt!Jensen fandom, I guess) and I'm itching to try and fill *some* of that gap. I also might have already stolen a prompt and saved it for later. Something to look forward to, I think.

Random aside: to date, I've written 63 stories, and those aren't including my unfinished spn_30snapshots table. That's ... a lot of words.

As for school (for anyone interested): job at the reference desk is going well. Okay, actually, I kind of love it a lot (I had almost started thinking about library science as an awesome major, ahahaha). The interaction, the learning, the people I work with - it's just a really enjoyable experience (plus, I feel so friggin' smart blabbing about call numbers and databases and software changes and all that jazz).

As for, you know, the less fun stuff known as coursework: I've got my simulated WISC-IV competency exam (in which a second year grad student pretends to be a kid so I can administer the test) Thursday, ugh :C and I've also got my first exam of the semester (and you'd be surprised - the school psych program is one of the *very* few programs that actually have exams. Every time I bemoan my fate with the other library GAs, they all give me funny looks) Thursday, too. The capper? I have to buy my own testing booklets for the course exam, ahahahaha WHAT, RU, I AM ALREADY BROKE, I DO NOT NEED THIS, as well as the protocols for the WISC. After that, I've got a simulated FBA interview (roping dear old sis to help me with that) and then I start going into schools to do this stuff for reals (well, I have to give the WISC to four ... RL (?) kids).

Blergh, life is kind of unfun and expensive sometimes, I swear. But it's going, at least. And maybe by the end of the next three years I'll have a meaningful degree, instead of just a wall decoration, sweet jeebus.
