Ajax, Antoinette, and Albert Camus

Well, asides from being bogged down with all my self-made responsibilities, I posted a few things, thought I should blurb on them-

Ajax I wrote on a whim. I'd rather not get into my rationale behind writing, except that my first reading of The Myth of Sisyphus probably had something to do with it, but besides that, it's interesting to look at in retrospect, since *while* I was writing it, I had no idea about how structured it would be. I mean, I sat in front of a notebook, scribbled something down in about fifteen minutes or so, and then I typed it up in about five minutes and posted it. I never *thought* about it. Yet, it has good, structured feel to it, in comparison to my other things, and then it's also smoother than most. I mean, I don't think it's as blatant as it usually is if you miss a Camus reference or two in it, even though it's so short. Or maybe that's just me.

Antoinette comes from that famous last line: "Let them eat cake!" I have no idea if that's actually her last words, but it's fun to think about. :P I mean, coming off of the Camus again, it's so *absurd* but from her perspective, it's a perfectly rational response. It made sense to me for Artemis to get this sort of effect going - facing the seemingly absurd secret shames of others, he can't parallel them to his own. Mleh. I think I need more words to play with this sort of thing properly. We had a *huge* discussion on this in Ethics on the first day, and I was left feeling veyr lost, but also very inspired....

I love Camus. I think I need to mention him on my profile somewhere. Dim Aldebaran now has a complete and utter fascination with Camus that trumps her former infatuation with The Birth of Tragedy. You may look forward to the gratuitous usage of and allusions to the words 'absurd', Sisyphus, Icarian, and Rieux.

*pokes people* Any fellow Camus freaks out there?
