Pains and Gains

"I ache all over." Ziggy complained, dropping down next to him on the couch. Dillon snorted in amusement, glancing over at him. "What did you do this time?" he asked softly.

"This is not my fault." Ziggy grumbled, pouting slightly. "K had me doing training."

Dillon huffed softly, trying hard not to laugh. "Poor you." He muttered. Ziggy groaned as if in agreement and slipped down until his head was pillowed in Dillon's lap. Dillon smiled softly, carefully running his hand through Ziggy's curls. "How bad are the bruises?"

"They're alright." Ziggy breathed, a content smile slowly forming on his lips. "But I got pretty scraped up. Those kinda sting."

"You clean them?" he asked calmly, leaning back against the couch. The soft sigh Ziggy gave as he slowly worked his way through the mess of curls to massage his scalp made him smile.

"Yeah." Ziggy said. "And seriously, ow! Can't they make an anitseptic that doesn't hurt?" Dillon chuckled softly at the younger man in amusement.

A shadow fell over them suddenly, making Dillon tilt his head back. Summer stood behind the couch, watching them with a wide smile. She looked like she was struggling not to laugh. "You two are too adorable.

Ziggy groaned, glaring up at her. "You've said this before. A billion times before. Now please, leave us alone."

"You're crabby today." Summer intoned, arching an eyebrow. She looked at Dillon. "What's with him?" she asked.

"Training." He answered, affectionately ruffling his hair before going back to petting it. Ziggy frowned at the two of them in annoyance. "Can you not talk about me as if I'm not right here?" Ziggy demanded.

The two ignored him. "He'll be like this on and off for the rest of the day." Dillon said. Summer laughed, still grinning widely.

"Then I should probably go before he decides to bite my head off." She said. She leaned over the couch briefly to also ruffle Ziggy's hair. Ziggy sighed but dealt with it, glaring up at her with a look that was just a shade to pout-ish to be effective. "I hate you all." He snarled.

Summer laughed again and walked away. Ziggy waved one hand at her in a shooing motion, full of friendly irritation. "Why do you let her do this to me?" Ziggy demanded, looking up at him with wide brown eyes. Dillon met his gaze squarely and told him, "For the same reason you do. I'm not crazy enough to try and stop her."

Ziggy sighed softly but conceded to the point. Dillon smiled and reached out to gently take one of Ziggy's hands. The younger man's knuckles were a bloody mess from the training, the skin torn and ragged. He carefully kissed the skin just below his knuckles. Ziggy's eyes softened and a small smile slid across his face. "Thank you." He whispered.

Dillon returned the smile. "Let's bandage these up, alright?" he asked. Ziggy nodded and sat up, letting Dillon pull him off the couch and towards the bathroom. And he very carefully ignored Summer watching them from the kitchen with a smile.
