safely in connecticut. for values of "safe" that don't exclude planning to spend a weekend in the woods literally playing with fire.
set up my tent, wandered around a bit and talked with people, talked myself into lighting up torches. i have an ex who claims that the first time having sex with a new partner is always bad and the thing to do is just get it out of the way quickly. i don't buy her theory for sex, but i've started to lean towards a similar superstition with regard to jugging torches, and if i can get some of the lame egregious dropping out of the way the first night that sounds nice.
i got some of the lame egregious dropping out of the way. check.
watching the field was really fun. there's actually a lot of good fire fan performance this year. just when i'd become convinced that
harm_city_heart was the only person who could do fire fans interestingly. :) i saw a lot of stuff borrowed from double staff, as well as the spinny stuff she does, as well as better integration with belly dance than i'd seen before.
up at 5:30 for morning cook shift, which i like because it gets me up. but now i'm wiped out from the deceptively calm-seeming morning tai chi class.
