(hm, i think "this sunday" was last sunday and the building is already decorated. none of those aerialist names are me, in case you're curious :) but i'll be in the "interactive youth variety show"s at 4 and 5, and i think also the evening show, where the aerialists will be performing during the band break around 10:45)

so i got 4 complete run-throughs, and my arms didn't fall off. actually the places where in the past it'd seemed like they might fall off were easier than they used to be; either i've gained strength or i've learned to do those moves more efficiently (probably both).

foolishly i didn't bring my music to practice in a way that could be conveniently played. i should have burned it to a cd; but actually it seems as if ipods are a popular standard now. i should get one.

i wore moominmolly's skeleton body stocking, which i plan to wear in performance, to see how that went. other than being pretty warm (but it's still winter! so that's not so bad), and having feet (which i had to cut off), it didn't present any obvious problems-- it's not too slick or too grippy. people told me it read reasonably well from a distance despite being only painted on the front.

the slack drop to touching the floor is a lot scarier over bare wood than over a mat. i got an "um, david, that's going to be really low..." from jeremy when i was measuring out the fabric for the drop. :) actually i tend to err on the high side, now, because as awesome as it looks when i hit it perfectly, if i'm not going to do that i'd rather wind up too high. i think as a mistake high looks better, also, anyway.

people were really good about reassuring me that it looks like an act now. ;) and, i admit, it feels like an act now. so, we'll see. :)

random new person report: there was a capoeirista there who apparently knew jeremy from capoeira and dance, and also knew one of the capoeira teachers who have a class before us on wednesdays. :)

harm_city_heart and clara_girl were practicing their acts a bit, but they just did them in performance last weekend and so are probably pretty ready. :) clara_girl and i might throw in a bit where we bring each other drinks in the middle of our acts, which will be pretty fun if it works out. :) (we both have these lounging-in-a-hammock style rest positions in our routines, that really look like we should be chillin with a cold beverage. :) )
