run as if all the hounds of hell were chasing you very slowly

last night, not long after i'd decided it was too late to try to coordinate a morning run or bike ride with anyone else and had resolved to warm up for my morning stretch by jogging around unknown parts of my neighborhood again or unicycling up to krispy kreme for donuts or something, fanw sent mail asking if i'd like to join her last training run before this weekend's triathlon.

she wanted to run the full distance she'll be running two days from now-- 5k, twice as far as we'd been running-- but what the heck.

and it was nice. we were joined by her sister, who once ran half a marathon by accident, cold, and who probably could have sprinted the distance. we managed to jog the whole bit without ever walking. i think it was the farthest i've ever run at a stretch.

afterwards i melted into a chair and gorged myself on homemade chocolate chip cookies, figuring i was going to go home and stretch shortly; i probably should have stretched immediately or gone home immediately, but the company was pleasant.

stretches were okay; mostly no better than last time, though last time was good. except single leg hamstring stretches, which seem to have taken off since my hamstrings healed: it seems i can eventually touch my chest to either thigh. i'm not sure i quite believe this...

also the pseudo tucked back lever excercise, where i managed 60 seconds. i think this means i'm supposed to start doing pull-ups in that position or something equally crazy; have to look that up. backslid in the pseudo tuck planche hold, though, managing two sets of only 28 and then 26 seconds. sigh.

the end result is that i'm tiiiiiired. stretching by itself normally makes me want a nap. After running 5k...

stretching, excercise, running
