Tutorial #2

Weee! We're going from

to

This tutorial does teach you how to create your own texture to make the

lighting effect. You can do this along with me, but the colors I use

are done because I half-ass everything. :D

Are you ready? Lets go! *is shot a million times*

Okay, this is your base. It has been DUPLICATED and then set to SCREEN

100%

Okay, now we're going to create a new layer and fill it with #3F4056.

So, basically it looks like this:

Set to EXCLUSION 100%

Now, create a new layer and fill it with the color #F4D2F2:

Now we're going to set the pink layer, so we're going to set to SOFT

LIGHT 100 %

Now, duplicate your base layer and place it on top of the pink layer

and set it to SOFT LIGHT - 100%

Now create a new layer and fill it with #66BCF9.

And then set it to LINEAR BURN - 100%

Okay here's the decision point. You could either learn how to make the

texture that I'm going to show you, or you could just paste it. If you

just want to paste it, here it is:

Then you would just paste on top of the the layer you just set to

LINEAR BURN. Set that layer to COLOR BURN - 100%. If you do want to

learn how make the texture, read on!

First, start out with a normal 100x100 canvas. I would start out with a

white canvas. Fill it with #A0A4FF.

Now, take go to your rectangular select tool and switch it to a

circular selection tool. Now, you can vary your sizes. Once you have it

selected, go to FILTER > RENDER > LENSE FLARE. I used different

cameras, that's why it varies. I usually use 105mm flare, I used

brightness 193%.

Now - FILTER > GAUSSIAN BLUR > 2.3 pixels.

See? Now go to IMAGE > ADJUSTMENTS > HUE AND SATURATION. And again,

play with it until you get something you like it.

Now keep on going with the same process until you have filled the

canvas to your hearts content.

Now go to FILTER > RENDER > LENSE FLARE and set one in the corner. Use

the same settings and camera. Make sure you'll see a glint in the other

corner.

Now do FILTER > BLUR > GAUSSIAN BLUR > 2.3 pixels to smooth it all out.

There! YOu've created a texture!

Just as a reminder, set your texture on top of the top layer to COLOR

BURN - 100 %.

,

Now, duplicate your base layer and place to the top of the textured

layer. set it to SCREEN - 100%

Now, we're going to go to FILTER > SHARPEN. For me, it's a little too

sharp, so what I'm going to do is that I'm going to go to EDIT > FADE

SHARPEN and I just faded it to 80%. But, if you like it like that, it's

fine. :)

Now, we're going to create a new layer, and then fill it with the color

#F9F0B7 ( here is what it looks like) and set

to DARKEN - 47%

Finally, duplicate your base image and drag it to the top layer, and

set to SOFT LIGHT - 100 %

This is optional, but this is just for that slanted look that I have, I

created a new layer, in white I used this brush (from insomniaxx and just pasted on top:

Brush:

I'd love to see what you all made with this tutorial! :)
