Who told you that default userpic of yours was a good idea?

It's really not. Trust me. I'm an artist.

Nobody told me, I just used one of the few pictures of me around and this was one of the few I had that showed my whole face.

What would you want me to do?

Make or find one that isn't cropped so poorly, mayhaps? I'm sorry, but right now it reminds me of the Vidiian named Sulan from Voyager, after he steals the token "red"shirt's face.

Nightmare fuel, good sir. Nightmare. Fuel.

....Ah, right, I forgot, you can't go out of character. Silly me.

You look like a guy who steals faces.

Wonder why none of your so-called friends are talking about how sexy your default is and how it makes them come in their pants...

But I don't steal faces. Why would I steal faces? Why would anyone want to steal a face?

...Most people onboard this boat are my subordinates or compete strangers, and not my friends. The idea that they find me sexually attractive based solely on a teeny tiny wee picture of me is very foreign to me, and very creepy.

::is now just dying of laughter::

You know, it's really a shame you just don't get that I really just don't like that userpic. Nothing against you. I just fucking hate that userpic. So not flattering. At all. Mind you, it's one of the least offensive of the many I have seen that lack any sense of æsthetics. I just wanted to know why you thought it was in the least bit flattering!

Oooh, hey, IP logging! Didn't see that before. Trying to find out who I am?

I'm glad that I amuse you, but I don't understand why you really care what I do, at all? However, differences of opinions are what makes this one life we have to live so very interesting.

Pardon?

Why do you care whether I care or not? If anything, you seem to be the one who cares over much. I am, to you, a mere troll. No one of any great import. When all comes to all, I could type away all day and all night, but it ceases to be fun when you cease to care. If you want me gone, just don't say the word! (Although, in the interests of complete honesty, I shall have to depart tonight eventually. I do have an actual life, which is terribly fond of having me awake before dawn.)

I get the impression you think you just gave me a verbal smack-down. You would be sadly mistaken.

Why do you care if I care if we care? All we seem to do is make circles with our words. Frankly, I'm very confused by what would motivate you to act so very strangely, and as Commander Spock would say, illogically.

I could be rewiring the tactical photon torpedo's computing matrix module's tritanium biochip to run twice as fast, but this is so very interesting human behavior, and if you were to be an subordinate, I would feel terrible if I ignored your concerns. My office couch is very comfy, and always ready to be sat upon.

...I did what now? You seem to be seeing something here that I'm not.

You should probably go and do that, then. I'm no subordinate of yours.

Well, it's been fun, but I have to be up fairly early.

Peace out, y'all.

((OOC, but not really, since I was never roleplaying in the first place: I applaud you for keeping in character, but you were taking this far too seriously. Honestly, it was a throw-away question because I've seen the userpic in question around before and always hated it. To each their own, I suppose, but I didn't expect you'd be that dedicated to showing the troll who's boss over such a trivial thing. ::shrugs:: You won't hear from me again. I got my answer.))

I see.

[OOC: I was testing my ability to stay in character, and apparently, pretty good at it. It was good for a laugh.

As an aside, there are very, very few nu!Scotty icons that are really situation neutral and of good quality, which is why it's the default.

Artistically, my icon follows the Rules of Thirds, as well as having contrast between my face and the background. Each corner has an unique darker shade compared to the center, drawing your eye inwards towards my face. So aesthetically, it technically works, but it's not my most favorite. It's also not en vogue for iconmaking, but once again, I make due with what I got.

Also, Starfleet is the military, and thus all titles are capitalized. Even if it wasn't, Scotty is also a high ranking civil official, and thus, gets his title capitalized, unless it is following his name. Put we're nitpicking, here.

Have a good night, Anon.]

Somebody is stealing faces? Ve should comm security, I do not vant my face to be stolen, I hawe gotten quite attached to it.

Coming in your pants is a sign of sexual immaturity Anon, maybe you should hawe that checked out at Sickbay. I am certain Dr McCoy might hawe a hypo for that. Do not vorry, it does not reflect on you as a person, it happens to lots of people.

Greetings and salutations, Ensign Chekova. You seem to have quite the lovely set of userpics. Perhaps you could speak to the lieutenant commander about the importance of æsthetically pleasing photography? In an unofficial capacity, of course.

I don't need a hypospray for that, since I am not afflicted with such a condition (one of the perks of asexuality). However, I am now curious as to how you might be so certain the good doctor has treatment for that. Hmm.

Hello mysterious Anonymous,

Thank you for you lowely compliment, howewer I like Lieutenant Commander Scott's user pictures, they are wery pretty. For example his ‘default’ as you hawe named it has a wery good sense of contrast vith the colours in the background being a lowely image of the bowels of the ship and him in front vith his red shirt. Also it proposes that he is in motion by the slight blurring of his face vhich is undoubtedly correct as Mr Scott newer seems to stop being busy vith his tinkering in Engineering. I find the artistic arrangement to be rather pleasing actually, but each to their own opinion, Da?

And as for your insinuation. Nyet I hawe no problem vith such, howewer it is a rare day that Dr McCoy does not hawe the solution in one of his hyposprays and he is alvays more that villing to stick you vith a new innoculation or other. He is a slight bit trigger happy vith them.

Hmm, you and I seem to be seeing different default userpics then. Since the one I'm seeing is a rather extreme close up of his face. No red shirt. No Engineering in the background. The one you refer to, I find to be quite lovely. He should use it more often.

Oh, this is unrelated to your comment, but I know that somewhere, there is someone getting their knickers in a twist over the fact that in my prior comment I capitalised your rank but not Lt Cmdr Scott's. I know this because it happens without fail any time titles get brought into things, and especially when a more important title is not capitalised but a lesser one is. So, for those of you who are reading this and thinking I am being disrespectful to the lieutenant commander, I suggest you run and find an English professor to explain the capitalisation of titles to you.
