I'm always an Engineer, ma'am.

When I'm not on duty? I usually work on the ship.

Oh.

Well, I'm responsible for the whole department. So there's always more work for me to do. Something's always being screwed up or breaking somewhere.

But I collect comic books, read books and watch movies, play the bagpipes badly, think of possible improvements to the ship, annoy Keenser, tinker with gadgets, and try to build an inversion drive.
