the show on friday went very very well as far as the quality of the performance. however, of the 300-something people I relentlessly and thoroughly promoted it to, I'd say maybe 15 of those people showed up. So along with ananda's sisters and some friends of hers and zach's, we barely got enough people there. kind of frustrating, considering we played our asses off for people who pretty much showed up as a favor to us. but whatever. gotta pay your dues somewhere, and I don't see why the trite expression shouldn't apply to us. But we're playing again on the 29th of November with Otis (phil and cal's band), and that should hopefully be better attended.
Had a cool party after the show at my place. but I found myself being very shady and slipping out the door without a word at about 3am or so because of 'personal business.' Nichole had a really awesome costume party on saturday night. adam and maggie and myself spent the afternoon looking for costumes and i settled on this weird cross between raggedy andy and 'big red gum.' meaning basically I was red from head to toe with the red wig get-up but there was just something slightly off about it. like the red ink around my left eye and the word FIGHT! written in red pen on my chest and stomach. for no particular reason. just to make me look threatening [which might actually be impossible]. However I ended up leaving that party around the same time and for the same reason. sunday evening was just totally fucking lame. weird personal dynamics between ananda, lena, maggie and adam. and a lame fucking party that I had to pay $10 to enter and was just not cool in any way shape or form.
we're recording a four song EP all week with possible 'bonus live tracks' from the show on friday. also, mark and this guy doug are hopefully making us a website this weekend. kickass.
