some items of interest:
Satisfaction Wheel is doing a show at the Knitting Factory! Tuesday September 21st at 9PM. for all you LA people, it's very much going to rock the casbah.
got 'contracted' to do some music for a Converse commercial being shot on spec. frankly I don't think it's going to be aired unless the director is willing to re-shoot EVERYTHING, but at the very least it's something with which to keep the writing chops up.
Mark's trying to get a real budget for Five Practical Jokes, to be shot summer of 2005. They want me to score it. For me, a real budget means they pay me $15,000. Like, as if I could spend that much money on Ramen noodles and hookers.
I'm single again.
I'm using the computer at my parents' house and the mouse is on the right side. i, however, am left handed so I always reach for it with my left, which I grab the power cable previously connected to my mom's lap-top [which is currently with my mother in flagstaff arizona], the box of nabisco nilla wafers or my cell phone instead of the mouse. the best part is it takes at least four clicks of the mouse before I realize why nothing is happening.
Dark City is a pretty cool movie, and an interesting addition to Sci-Fi in general. I think a lot of the appeal comes from the highly stylized set construction and costumes and just general atmosphere. It's like the way people thought the future would look back in the 40's. Very absorbing. Something about Rufus Sewel's face in that movie reminds me of Jude Law.
There's a special place in hell for all the people who can't enjoy a good laugh over an episode of Aqua Teens, Kid Notorious, TV Funhouse or The Venture Brothers. Same goes for people who don't get Achewood. You suck.
I have a sortof mohawk now. It looks good, actually. My dad was the only person who didn't think so, but what did I expect anyway?
I start working Kinko's this thursday. Didn't get the cool museum job that would have paid more, been closer to where I live and been easier to do, but oh well. at this point I just need to eat and pay rent.
Finally got to meet Adam's girlfriend Maggie. Fabulously cool girl and [uber fortunately for me] subdues Adam's ultra-violent side. And she donated a bag of cookies to the apartment. how delicious.
That's probably it for now.
