just talked with a friend back home. everyone's battening down the hatches and stocking up on nonperishables, getting ready to face a hurricane the size of texas. i'm sorry i'm missing all the excitement.
the roof of my mom's house is in the middle of being re-shingled so only time will tell whether it'll stand up to the storm, she's moving the electronics to the first floor and staying at a friend's. my grandparents are under voluntary evacuation since they live less than a mile from the coast, but of course they refuse to go anywhere.
i wonder how the canal system will hold up, they drained a few of them so hopefully that'll help with the flooding.
I hope I have a house to go back to.
