In this tutorial I will show you how to get the vintage effect the easiest way.

» Open up the image you want to use. I will be using
this. I choose this image because the greens/yellows in the image contrast well with this vintage effect.
» To begin the effect duplicate your base layer and set the blend mode to screen at 100%. Desturate the layer (go to Adjust » Hue & Saturation » Colourize and put the saturation to 0). This should make the colours of the image a lot
more greyer.
» Create a new raster layer and fill it with the colour #0A2176. Set the layer's blend mode to exclusion at 100% to give an orange overlay type affect.
» Duplicate the base layer and drag it to the top of your layout pallet. Set the blend mode of this layer to Lumiance (Legacy) at 100%.
» Now create a hue/saturation/light layer and change the saturation to -35 leaving hue and light at 0. And that's you done.
Obviously you may have to change the settings on things depending on your starting image as it will not give the exact same effect each time. I hope this has helped. :)
