Earlier this week I planned a mini overnight trip for us on Friday night/Saturday day. I wanted to go to the maple sugar festival
at Malabar Farm (about an hour from here) on Saturday so I thought it would be fun to go stay in a hotel nearby there on Friday night.
Figured we could play in the pool, eat out, and just get away for awhile. I found a good hotel rate, but didn't book it. Good thing too, because this is what the Cleveland news site says about the next couple days for our area:
Major Snowstorm Headed Our Way!
"Run the errands tonight or early Friday. By afternoon the snow will begin, and it won't ease up until 8"-15" is added to our seasonal totals by Saturday night. "
Grr.......I was really looking forward to that after a hard week too. But if it is going to be that bad, I can't justify driving into a snowstorm just to hang out in a hotel. And I know I won't be able to talk my family into hanging out in the woods in 10 inches of snow just to see how maple sugar is made. (Which they should know since we go every year!).
I do have to go up to see my parents soon before this snow hits. They're driving to my sister's house in Chicago on Sunday and I want
to use them as pack mules to avoid mailing my nephew's birthday gift and my sister's girl scout cookies. I'm sure they don't mind. ;)
