There are some times in our relationship, when Bubbie and I are so connected. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that she is my other half. My soul mate. When I break down our relationship to the bare wood, we are so right for one another, and she is my rock.
But, then there are moments when I feel so alone. Not just by myself in the house that we share (with two kids lurking in the background), but truly lonely. Pushed away. Rejected.
And, I know that it's not just Karen. It's me too. I fail to communicate with her. I get my feelings hurt and pull away. I need to invest more time in US. Face to face. Side by side. Working this relationship together. I need to find ways to trust her more, and not smother her. To let her also be her own person, as well as be an equal partner in our marriage.
