I'm in my 6th full day of being in pain, since throwing my back and shoulder out while playing with the kids last Wednesday, and I finally decided that I couldn't take any more on my own. Sure, 800 mg of ibuprophen or a Darvocett pill helps for about 4 to 6 hours at a time, but then the pain just keep s coming right back.

This morning, before work, I went to see Dr. Wehr at O'Fallon chiropractic center. Karen and her mom have been going to Dr. Nobbe at the same site for years, and I used to see a Dr. Knight there several years back. I could tell that all of the muscle tension had pulled my back out of whack, and figured that the rest of my aches and pains might be related.

Dr. Wehr confirmed that I had several disks out of place, and that I also have two dislocated ribs. he massaged some biofreeze into the muscles for a while to loosen things up, and then popped everything back into place. The back feels quite a bit better, but now I feel like someone has kicked my ass on top of the pain that I was already in.

He said that it would be a couple of weeks before the soreness in my ribs and shoulder would go away, and that I would need several more adjustments with Dr. Nobbe in order to allow for the ribs and spine to stay in place and to let the muscles heal up. Until then, no lifting or strenuous exertion on my back or shoulder muscles, and I'm supposed to try to sleep on my back as much as possible to avoid pulling on the ribs during my sleep.
