Neville knew Draco and Harry were teasing him all evening- he was okay allowing it. It was fun to let go of all his insecurities and simply enjoy.
"The food is wonderful, Harry," Neville said taking the last bite, finishing it off with a glass of water.
"You didn't even touch the wine," Draco said, slightly scowling. "Are you upset for any reason?"
Neville shook his head. "No. I just…I'd rather keep my head on straight tonight if that's okay. I don't want to drink too much. I have an early day tomorrow."
"You're working on a Saturday?" Harry asked, sounding disappointed.
"Yes. One of my employees needed to switch her shift because she's got to attend a wedding. So as I'm the owner, she'd told me so last minute, I couldn't find a replacement. So I'll have to go in first thing."
"Oh," Harry said, looking even more disappointed. "Does this mean you're not spending the night?"
"I wasn't sure I was invited to," Neville said, surprised. It was a dinner invitation, and he didn't know if he'd cross some sort of a line with Harry when he'd told him about his confession to Draco. They'd not really spoken about it since then. Harry or Draco. Neville didn't know what to think so he figured it was best to not assume anything and wait for them to make their next move.
"Of course you're invited to spend the night," Harry said, sounding aghast. As if Neville broke some rule he didn't even know about.
"I'm sorry. I didn't-"
"It's fine, sorry. I'm overreacting," Harry said. "I…this isn't my normal style of dating. So I don't know what we do and in what order as we've already mixed all the steps up. I mean I haven't told anyone I love them-"
Draco cleared his throat and he grabbed his glass of wine. "I believe the words Neville used with me were we're complicated." He smiled at Harry and leaned closer to squeeze his shoulder. "Perhaps we should not simply jump into action whenever we feel like it and we should discuss more about what we want and how to proceed…"
"How Ravenclaw of you," Harry said in a teasing tone. "You're right. Maybe if we're done, I should clear this up and we can all go for a walk. And Neville if it isn't too late for you, maybe you'd like to come back here for tonight. Both of you. And spend the night. But if you don't want to…"
"I would like to spend the night," said Neville. "I can leave early and stop by my place to prepare for work. But I don't want you to think if I'm not here, or if I can't stay, it doesn't mean you can't invite Draco to stay without me. I don't mind. I wanna be clear about that. You know? I don't know what the rules are between us yet. But I don't want to hold you back."
