femslashficlets Ginny hadn't always been very good at everything but processing her own feelings. She'd been too obvious as a child when she'd had a crush on The Harry Potter; she'd been too vocal about her fights with Dean as she'd gotten older.
Having a relationship in secret, for so long, wasn't something that'd come easy. Now, she had to continue acting like nothing happened, her meaningful relationship had never even been in the first place, she wasn't entirely sure she'd be able to handle it.
It wasn't a surprise to her when she managed to turn it all off and give into her work. She loved Quidditch; at times, it was the only thing in her life which made sense. It's what she did. Weeks-months went by-Ginny had stopped noticing. Life became a routine. Wake up, practice. Lunch, practice. Dinner with her teammates. Go home-exercise before falling asleep to dream about Quidditch.
Was it healthy? She didn't know. She didn't give herself time to think about it. Right now her team was her life. Making it to the World Cup finals was the goal.
"I dunno what happened to you but I'm loving the new determination, Weasley," Thimba, the co-captain for her team said to her over drinks on Friday night.
They had a week off from practice so the team was out getting sloshed before going on holiday. The plan was to relax and then get back to the routine; harder and stronger.
Ginny shrugged as she took a Firewhisky shot. "I just need a win, is all."
"Me too!" Thimba said. Then she leaned in close. "I've been going through a dry spell so I'm hoping to find someone tonight; basically shack up with him for a week." She winked at Ginny and then turned around to assess the men in the pub.
Ginny laughed with her. "I can relate," she said thinking she was expected to say something similar. It wasn't long before she had locked eyes with a girl wearing a bright yellow blouse and dark blue jeans. She perked up when Ginny had looked at her, as if she'd been waiting awhile for Ginny to do so.
