OH. MY. GOD.
It is such an utter violation of TRUST to not BCC 20+ individuals you are emailing for your fest. This is happening over and over again with different mods with different fests. Honestly, a lot of people sometimes provide their RL email address b/c they are so eager to be involved and it's so heartbreaking to witness an absolute disrespect of this confidence.
I was recently victimized by this for another fest who included my fandom name and my REAL LIFE PROFESSIONAL EMAIL ADDRESS. Like, I don’t even know how the fuck they got that in the first place. The only thing I can think of is that I maybe once replied w/ my RL email address to a question b/c I used to get my fandom emails FWD to my RL address. And that was back in 2013.
And today, again, I got an email with 20+ lists of names and email address.
It’s happening across fests and across fandoms and I just don’t know why a person cannot take a step back and they are so in a hurry that they just do this.
I guess in the end, I’m just going to end up dropping out of every fucking fest b/c I cannot trust moderators to not defile my identity.
