When Scorpius arrived home, he immediately got swept into the family drama. Lily and Rose had a misunderstanding which led to them fighting. Scorpius sighed, walking into Lily's room speak to her as Rose wasn't speaking to anyone.
"It isn't fair. Dad always takes her side," Lily said to Scorpius.
"Yes, but my father always takes yours," he said in a teasing tone. "And you know what happens when Harry argues with Father-"
"Your father always wins."
"I'm sure it'll blow over. What was the misunderstanding about, anyway?"
"Rose heard me talking to Sheila about Suchi's cousin Roseline. They sometimes call her Rosie. So I said I thought Rosie was stuck up. Someone heard, told Rose. I mean, you and I both know I think Rose is stuck up but I wasn't talking about her. I was talking about Roseline."
"Did you tell her that?" Scorpius asked and Lily nodded. "Did you tell her the part where you think Rose is also stuck up?"
"I didn't mean to, it just blurted out. You know I can't lie."
Scorpius shook his head. "Why don't you go and apologise to Rose, then?"
Lily made a face. "Maybe tomorrow."
Scorpius started to get up off the chair he was sitting in. They were in Lily's room and he figured by now, his delivery of his clothes would have arrived.
"So tell me about you."
"What about me?"
"How's it going with… you know."
"It's going," Scorpius said carefully.
"Has there been a development?"
"About what?"
"About your relationship, stupid."
"Don't call me stupid."
Lily rolled her eyes. "So are you all proper boyfriends now?"
Scorpius shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe. In secret I reckon. But… it's weird and different. I mean after Terr-" Scorpius stopped himself. He didn't know how much he should tell Lily. Terrance wasn't his secret to tell.
"Terr?" she said raising an eyebrow.
"I met a bloke who used to date them. He's cross with me."
"He's jealous."
Scorpius shrugged again. "I suppose so." At that, she started laughing. "I'm not saying so to sound all self-centred or anything."
"No, I believe you," she said. "Just doesn't stop with the drama in this family, does it?"
At that, Scorpius laughed as well. "No, I suppose it really doesn't. I think I've smoothed it over with the bloke, though. He's not going to be sending me any howlers or showing up at any dinner reservations and making a scene."
"How did you manage to do that?"
"Money," Scorpius replied, honest.
"Ah, the Malfoy way."
"You know it!" he said with another chuckle. "Anyway, I'm knackered so I think I'm going to go and take a nap. I hope things go over smoothly with Rose, Lily. I'd hate to see my father and Harry arguing over your petty little drama."
"Right. All I'll do is talk about your petty little drama, then."
Scorpius shook his head and left Lily's room. No matter what she said, he knew he could trust her.
