"Being intimate isn't the problem…" Hermione said, rolling off Ginny and taking more than half the bed sheet with her.
Ginny felt a shiver as the cold air in the room hit her where she'd just been sweaty. She grabbed for her wand and placed a warming spell. She didn't ask for the sheet back.
Hermione stared down at her naked body, he eyes raking all over it, as if she'd been deprived of the view for a long time. If she'd been deprived, it was Hermione's own doing, not Ginny's.
Ginny had walked away and Hermione had just come chasing after.
Involuntary, Ginny shivered again when Hermione's finger traced a bead of sweat up her thigh and to her belly button.
"Stop," Ginny said, pulling away. "You got what you wanted, you can leave now."
"This is why you think I'm here? Just for this?"
"Why else would you be here?" Ginny asked getting up off the bed and then summoning a fresh pair of jogging trousers and a cotton shirt. She put them on and turned to look at Hermione.
Hermione looked so fucking fine wrapped up in nothing but the bed sheet, her wild hair tousled more than normal as she bit her lower lip.
Maybe it'd been a while because Ginny thought she was ready for another go.
"I thought we could talk," she said sitting up and wrapping the sheet around her some more as if they hadn't just been intimate.
"About what?"
"I've missed you. I thought maybe we could, I don't know, work on us again."
"Work on us?" Ginny asked, almost laughing. "There isn't an us anymore, Hermione. You don't want to be out. You don't want people to know you were dating me, and then we ended things. I've moved on from our problems. You should too."
"So you have moved on?" she asked in a tone which was more of a statement than a question.
Ginny only raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms. She stayed quiet for a while. "Maybe it's easy for you to act so vulnerable because you are naked. Meet me in the sitting room, fully dressed. And let me see this act then."
With that, Ginny walked away. Hermione was a strong person; she always had been. If she looked hurt by Ginny declaration of moving on - whatever that was - had to be an act.
