Day 11
Share a book/song/movie/tv show/fanwork/etc that changed your life.
So I will give you:
1. Book: There are two books that really changed my life in the most simplest of terms. It wasn't totally mindblowing or anything but I just really liked the way they were written. a) Zero at the Bone and b) Aristotle and Dante discover the secrets of the universe. They're both M/M. Zero is explicit and adult and A&D is about two young boys and their friendship and it's quite YA.
Another book I read a very long time ago that still resonates with me is:
Conversations With The Fat Girl.
2. Song: Basically any song by Alanis Morissette from Jagged Little Pill. This CD really got me through some rough times.
3. Movie: Naturally, the answer is Star Wars. More like the Star Wars universe because through it I've made some good friends and learned a lot about how people are in general. It's an amazing fandom.
4. TV Show: I've really loved watching and will forever love The Good Wife. I love finding shows on my own and loving them. The other answer really is Merlin. I started watching Merlin after a really bad break up in 2008 and the show really kept me sane. That's why I just love it so much. I wish I connected more w/ the fandom people on it but I tend to have an eventual falling out with the whole lot of them.
5. Fanwork: I will say
Another mask behind you moved me to pieces as well. It has a lot of stuff listed in the warnings that I'm not crazy about but the writing and the story and just everything is so fucking on point and the characterization kills me. I read it a couple of years ago when I was sad in Istanbul and it really kept me going. I was sad when it was over.
DAY 12
In your own space, create a fanwork.
Well, yesterday, I wrote my next series for
harry100 and also I created two pieces of art already for Merlin and an HP fest.
DAY 13
In your own space, set some goals for the coming year.
For fanwork: I want to create at least 20 pieces of HD art this year for fests or otherwise. For real life, I want to lose 10 pounds by July. I will feel really good about myself if I keep losing weight slowly and steadily and if I just lose 2 pounds a month, I can get to my goal by July. No problem! Already, my clothes (esp my jeans, yo!) fit a bit better with the exercises I am doing. I just have to make sure I keep doing it. I also realized that dancing - was a way to lose weight - is really the best for me. And yoga being taught by white girls is by far the most annoying fucking thing on the planet. (Legit, no offence intended). I just have not found an instructor whose voice doesn't make me cringe. So that road to yoga is really being relied on mechanical / virtual instructors because - go figure - i like them more.
DAY 14
In your own space, create your own challenge. Whatever your challenge is, and have fun with it!
My challenge to myself and all my friends that might want to do this is read all the entries in a fest. If there are squicks like rape, or incest, those can be skipped, otherwise, that's a challenge.
