These are random questions I found as an "end of the year" meme thing on the internet, and I thought they were kind of challenging. So I hope you read them, and fill one out for yourself! 15 questions that make you think, I think!
1. What is something you did this year that you think you will remember for the rest of your life?
That one time I opened up my heart to a stranger and was stomped upon and then was blamed for "playing the victim."
2. What is something you accomplished this year that you are proud of?
I got a new job. I started applying for jobs on Dec 31 2015 and was hired by the end of February, and started my new job on March 14, 2016
3. What was the nicest thing someone did for you this year?
Over the holidays, I reached out to a couple of fandom friends and they welcomed me back into their lives with open arms and it was everything I could have asked for.
4. What was the most challenging part of this year for you?
Finding myself. I don't often do this since I am very sure of myself always. But I had to come to terms with something and what I stood for, what I expected from people around me and well, I learned a lot about my values.
5. Where was your favorite place this year, and why?
My trip to Montreal was probably my fav. place this year. I wish the city wasn't so expensive, I probably would go back there over and over again.
6. If you could change one thing that happened this year, what would it be?
I wish I wouldn't be so desperate to jump into a situation b/c I was feeling lonely and sad. I should have kept my distance about a few things so I wouldn't be so hurt or heartbroken at the end of it all.
7. What are three things you did this year to help someone else?
WOW. This is like a lot. Well 1 or and 2 I reached out to some people and listened to them. I must have spent hours just hearing what my friends had to say and instead of being me - which is hey let's find a solution - I was more I'll just be quiet and listen. 3. I know personally, my friend was having financial problems and I sent him a lot of money. LOL. It was a weird situation and even his own family/mother wouldn't help him and he only had me to rely on. It was kind of crazy but liberating at the same time that I was able to do that for a friend.
8. What are the three most important things you learned this year?
1. Don't compromise your standards. 2. Giving up coffee isn't the biggest deal in the world. 3. Everyone deserves a second chance - they just have to be worthy of it.
9. What is something that was hard for you at the start of the year but is easy now?
Learning that I am kind of a jerk. I always thought I was a good person, but realized by the end of the year, that I can be kind of a douche (/wanker)
10. In what area do you feel you made your biggest improvements?
I exercised more than I thought I would.
11. Of the books you read this year, which was your favorite? Why?
More happy than not - it was a heartbreaking story - and it showed me that not everything turns up the way you plan it but in the end you just have to decide what makes you happy and how you live with it.
12. What was the best piece of writing that you did this year? Why do you think it is your best?
I have no idea, but I'll go with
from your mouth to mine - I was invited to write for DD during a very hectic time of my life and the fact that I banged out this beauty was a total shocker, and I really do love the way it was turned out.
13. Knowing what you know now, if you could write a letter to yourself that would travel back in time so that you would receive it at the start of this year, what advice would you give your younger self?
Jesus fucking Christ - maybe - make all the mistakes and know that you are you b/c you fuck up. LOL
14. When you consider the rest of your life, what percentage of what you learned this year do you think will be useful to you?
Just a tiny bit. I think I always say "don't open up your heart" and then I do anyway - so i like, never learn.
15. What advice would you give others from something you learned this year?
There's no "someday". Do it now. You should have done it yesterday.
