I just saw the movie tonight. Didn't watch any trailers - somehow they just missed me? - so I had no idea what I was getting into.
BUT THAT SCENE. I ship it so hard.
I'm so excited to see where they take it from here. If the blatant checking out he gives Finn is ever taken further either through romance, or even just given acknowledgment (I think we know which we'd prefer). The movie was flawed, but it's three protagonists are all amazing and I'd happily watch them for hours. Poe's queerness just makes him even better.

HAHA for sure. I really liked the article b/c the author wrote it after he'd seen the movie and before he/she'd seen any interviews. And the author just goes on about how Poe is queer and it's obvious and not pushing it and I just LOVE it.
Also, yes. The movie was def. flawed and I have lots of opinions about it. But the three major characters were amazing.
The very second I saw the moment pass between these two in the movie I looked at my boyfriend (who is so used to this) with my shopping face and he nodded back. Even he couldn't not see it!
I've come in from watching this at the cinema and seen this. I don't think Finn is gay. If he is, he definitely doesn't know it yet (well, you know, institutionalisation). He seems rather into Rey and really oblivious to Poe checking him out.
Yes, I totally agree with you about them potentially being great role-models for a generation. A gay hero (hopefully), a black guy born into violence who turns against it, and a girl hero who's just an independent young woman without jedi parents (hopefully!).
