[ Kyouko was already up early today - it was rather nice out early in this place, with the clean air and nature sounds, much different than the city - and so she spots the antics around the inn when she happens to be nearby. She quickly sneaks in through one of the windows to check it out and so Rock might suddenly find a girl sitting in the windowsill and watching him cook when he turns.

She just grins, clearly not bothered by the idea she's suddenly busting into the situation, and takes a bite out of the apple she's carrying with her. ]

What's cooking?

[ Under any other circumstances, Rock might've been completely surprised at the prospect of a girl randomly showing up without him noticing. Heck, he still was, given the way he almost jumped when he turned and saw her. But after dealing with murder chickens who were all but trying to kill him, the sight of another person was actually... a little reassuring.

So he cracks a sheepish smile, holding the pan with one hand as he awkwardly scratches the back of his neck with the other. ]

U-Um... just... making some eggs, right now. [ A pause. ] ... Did you want me to make you some?

[ She remains silent for a few more moments, almost observing him as she munches on the bite she took out of the apple. (Not in a quite ladylike way, even.) After she swallows it, Kyouko speaks up again. ]

Heh, I'd never say no to some good food. [ A slight grin. ] What else would I've gotten in here for, to watch the scenery?

[ Okay that actually gets a slight chuckle out of him. So yeah, you know what? Rock's gonna go ahead and grab another egg to crack it over the pan. He likes the company, okay?

He moves over to the kitchen hearth and holds the pan over the fire with his armored hand. Which, you'd think would be a terrible idea, but yay for temperature resistant armor! ]

So, did you just wake up?

[ Oh, now this is something Kyouko likes. She doesn't move from her position near the window, although she slightly shifts her weight so it's a position which is a bit more comfortable. And so she watches him from that spot. ]

Yeah, I've only been up for a little while now. Guess I woke up pretty early today, huh?

[ She takes another bite from the apple, but this time just talks with her mouth full. What are manners. ] If it earns me bweakfast I don't.. [ munch ] mind at all though.

[ Aha..ha... okay so the lack of manners bothers him juuuuust a little bit. But not enough to not keep cooking breakfast for her. ]

Heh, well, I just thought I'd cook some breakfast before my first shift with the Watch. [ He casts a glance over at the eggs to make sure they're cooking properly. Which they are! But he's not used to not using a conventional stove-top yet. ]

[ She practically grew up on the streets, okay, how is she supposed to help it.. ]

Oh, you're part of that Watch thing? Good for you. Guess they're doing a pretty good job so far.

... I don't know much about it other than what Souji told me. [ Another glance at the eggs. Yep, still cooking. Looking like they're almost done too. ] But I figured it was the best way to help out while I'm here.

Souji? Oh, guy with the grey hair, right?

[ She's staring at the eggs as well, waiting to devour some when they're done.. Like a predator just sitting there and waiting. ]

I dunno much about it either, although I've been to one of those meetings they had once. What can I say, there was lots of food. How was I supposed to pass up on that?

Meetings? [ This is the first Rock has heard of this. But it piques his interest. ]

Yeah, they have these.. meetings apparently. Every month or so, I think?

[ She stares at the ceiling for a moment, pondering this. ]

Anyway, they talk about important stuff in the village and pretty much anyone who wants to come can come. And more importantly, there's free food.

[ Rock is already starting to notice a pattern with her thought process here.. AND OH HEY SPEAK OF THE DEVIL THE EGGS ARE DONE. Give Rock a moment as he pulls the pan out of the hearth and lets it cool for a bit so he can serve the eggs.. ]

That's really smart! I guess that's one way to make sure everyone's up to date on everything..

[ HEY FOOD IS NOT ALL THAT'S ON HER MIND.. it's just very.. prominent.. And she'll just be sitting here with baited breath. ]

I can't complain about a lack of organization, yeah. At least it seems they know what they're doing, so that's good.

I hope so. It'd be really hard to help otherwise..

[ Now give Rock one second as he puts the eggs on two different plates aaaand... ]

[ She at least manages to throw out that last bit of courtesy before she's already munching down on the eggs as if she hasn't eaten in days. It's quite the spectacle, really. ]

[ Oh.. wow... that wasn't what Rock was expecting. Not that it's stopping him from eating! But.. wow, she must've been really hungry, man..

... Maybe he should've cooked more eggs.. ]

Wow.. [ A pause. Then a chuckle. ] I hope they taste good!
