(no subject)
Today is the boring day of the week. It is friday and everything in Damascus is empty: streets are empty, shops are closed, even restaurants have only very few customers. The worst thing is that it is the same every single Friday. I have to say I hate this day of the week in Syria. There is nothing to do. Normally I sit all day in my house and chat to Cat(my flatmate), we drink tea and smoke argile (water-pipe), we watch TV or listen to music, we basically do nothing all day. And it is the same today. My trips to the internet cafe are the only entertainment on Fridays in Syria.
But unfortunately it is one of my last Fridays in here. In two weeks time am going back to Poland.My flatmate is leaving Damascus tonight, her flight to Belfast is 3.00am. I have to say I will miss Syria but am happy that I'm going home. After 8 months in this country, home sounds great. Alright I have to go now, we will be having last minute visitors this afternoon. But...I'll be back.
