Happy 4th of July everyone!

I haven't finished some of my reviews on GoodReads, but here are the books I read in the month of June. Click on the cover or title to read my full review where available.

3 Books **
and 6 audiobooks (1 re-read)
9 TOTAL

My favorites this month were the Across the Universe series and of course the book I re-read Lirael. I highly recommend everyone read both!

What I read in June

Divergent
by Veronica Roth
Well maybe 4.5. More comments later.

Shadows of the Workhouse
by Jennifer Worth
This was amazing and so interesting. There is a lot of brutal history here, sorrow and death, but also redemptive love -- and not just the romantic kind. It makes me think about what is it I truly value. Where are my priorities? What am ...

The Freedom Maze
by Delia Sherman
Maybe 4.5 Stars. This was an excellent story. The historical research was impressive and the fantasy time travel believable. It's a story that leaves a lot to think about -- a sign of a good writer.

Shades of Earth
by Beth Revis

A Million Suns
by Beth Revis

Legend
by Marie Lu
Maybe this should be 4.5 Stars. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to read the next books. I'm a huge Les Mis fan, and so anything that takes its inspiration from Les Misérables can't be too bad, right? But here's the thing, Marie Lu to...

Across the Universe
by Beth Revis
Wow! I am very impressed with this series -- as anyone who follows me could tell by the fact that I read the whole trilogy in 4 days. There are so many good things to say about these book! First the most important life lesson: Never a...

Finnikin of the Rock
by Melina Marchetta
This is easily the worst book I have read all year. I cannot believe how high a score this book has on GoodReads. Still, it’s not absolutely terrible, I’d put it at 2 or maybe 2.5 stars. I kept hoping it would get better, so stuck with i...

Lirael
by Garth Nix
June 3, 2014 -- I just finished a reread of this today. It remains one of my favorite fantasy series ever. This time I enjoyed catching all the foreshadowing and theme development that I missed the first time. And I can't wait for Clari...
