So psyched to be seeing Zero Dark Thirty in a few. For you theater geeks, this is *my* Les Miz.

I just wrote 800 words on Les Misérables. Somewhere, my 14-year-old self is shaking his head in disgust.

@chattyrachel I knew nothing of Les Miz before Friday.

On Friday I saw Les Miz. A movie I was dreading because, other than a Seinfeld episode, I knew nothing about Les Miz. http://huff.to/TolL9B

@houseerin NOOOOOOOOOOOO (ugh i hope you like it i liked it a lot, i thought the directing was a little too heavy on CLOSEUPS but otherwise)

'Les Miz' virgin @mikeryan takes one for the team and reports back: "Nothing to fear here!" http://huff.to/Tk7rg6

"Les Miserables" micro-review: intense & at 2:30, relentless. Sometimes not in a good way. Wld have traded longer running time 4 more scope

"Les Miserables" micro-review: performances were amazing, but almost all presented in close ups or steady-cam. Collectively wearing.

"Les Miserables" micro-review: so it's not for everyone. But if you're a fan of the play, I think u'll be pleased. Ending still chokes me up

Alex Rose ‏@u62
@venice4change the mini-making-of/extended-commercial before Skyfall described it as revolution in movie-musicals because actors sang live

Marta Evry ‏@venice4change (Film Editor/Photographer)
@u62 true. And it makes a big, big difference in performance

She did! RT @LyzzleG: @venice4change how was Anne Hathaway?? Did she do the role of Fantine justice?

Marta Evry ‏@venice4change (Film Editor/Photographer)
More thoughts on #lesmiserables: affecting, but frustrating. Anne Hathaway, Eddie Redmayne were astonishing, Jackman good, Crowe acceptable

Marta Evry ‏@venice4change (Film Editor/Photographer)
Technical advances allowed actors to sing "live", allowing 4 deeper, richer, more intimate performances.....but.....#lesmiserables
https://twitter.com/venice4change/status/272597875450601472

Marta Evry ‏@venice4change (Film Editor/Photographer)
But director Hooper fell in love with singing close-ups, sacrificing scale, creating a frustrating sameness to each scene #lesmiserables
https://twitter.com/venice4change/status/272598434664570882

Marta Evry ‏@venice4change (Film Editor/Photographer)
Lastly, fealty to every song + sub 150 min running time created rushed pacing that ironically caused story to drag #lesmiserables
https://twitter.com/venice4change/status/272598776257056769

Marta Evry ‏@venice4change (Film Editor/Photographer)
Would have gladly traded additional screentime for more breathing room, more spoken dialogue, even fewer musical numbers #lesmiserables

See previous Twitter posts from over the weekend. I've gone back through them and sourced and credited them. I also added a lot to the Saturday post. I still have to do Friday and the last bit of Saturday.

And we're nearing the end of my coverage of what the critics/public tweets about the film. Honestly by the time real reviews start coming in there's no point and I don't need to post what every person with a Twitter account has to say about the film.

oscars, sasha stone, twitter, tom o'neil. les mis
