Some of you may recall the problems I have with my internet connection and how the people at Qwest were absolutely no help (
see previous post on the topic). What I have learned to do to deal with the problem is to not use the phone at the same time as I'm on the internet and to try to limit heavy bandwidth usage.
Well, Thursday night I broke the heavy bandwidth rule and this (or something related to it) caused Safari to have 2 major crashes. When I turned on my computer Friday Safari was corrupt. The program would run without the menus on the top bar, the back button, the http:// ... box, the search box ... everything gone.
I ran a virus scan, nothing; I ran my disc utility, nothing. I restarted the computer a few times, no differences. Alright, so the program is corrupt. Well, in order to reinstall Safari ...
I have to reinstall my entire Operating System! ARGH!!!!!!!!
I just did all of this over the summer. It take a huge amount of time because then you have to reinstall all the other programs after that! Well, I called a repair shop and they will use DiskWarrior to deal with this mess. But there's no telling how much reinstalling I'll end up having to do.
At the moment I have no internet (I'm at work at the moment. I wanted to check my email) and my computer is on the fritz. I've been backing up everything I can to avoid the worst, but still ... I have things I need to be doing and now my time will get sucked into another computer salvage mission.
