Oil painting, Robin Hood and André Rieu

After talking about my love of oil painting I thought I'd share one of my paintings. However, the camera was a little crooked (see the lower right hand corner).

The translucent glow is achieved by adding extra linseed oil to the paint as is the case here.

In other news I'm finally breaking down and buying the new "Robin Hood" I'm getting season 1 because I can get it cheap used. I'll see if I can find season 2 cheap later. So far the used copies I've seen of it are still well above what I'm willing to pay. But my plan to have my parents record the second half of the season 2 off BBC America didn't go quiet as smooth as we'd planned. It'd be easier just to buy it and then I don't have to watch those commercials anyway.

I'm amused by the new André Rieu concert in Vienna. It has what appears to be Franz Joseph and Elisabeth lookalikes in one of the last numbers. The man you could say was a coincidence, but the woman had the diamond stars in her hair (as in my icon with this post) - they knew what they were doing! But why PBS never got the Schönbrunn concert I'll never know.
