Ok, so my posting is sporadic at best these days, still trying to get back into the habit of posting at least semi-regularly. Also missing for the last few weeks has been climbing. Just after my last post I discovered that a recurring problem with a tendon was getting worse, so I decided to take about two and a half weeks off to make sure it healed before the next bouldering league, which was this past monday. As far as I can tell, it is just fine, although I am still somewhat concerned about my elbows and wrists, which could be either tendonitis or carpal tunnel syndrome, or both, oh joys. The combination of a crappy desk at work, climbing, and other wear and tear is nasty for my arms I am discovering. Oh well, guess that is why I am taking a month off over Christmas, hopefully letting everything get back to normal so I can get back into training hard in the new year.
In other climbing news, the final bouldering league was a blast, there were some great problems. I changed my strategy this time and started at problem twelve and worked my way up until just before the end of the night when I went back and did the first eleven. This really worked for me as it meant I spent my energy on the problems that needed it more. The only problem in the first twenty that I didn't get was 19, and I think I can get that when I go back. Other than that, the only one of real note that I got was 24, which I had to work hard to pull. The sense of accomplishment was great, and Sean got a couple of good shots of me on it I think, which I can't wait to see! Next time around I am hoping that I can get 19 as I said, as well as 21, 22 and 23. I would love to get the first 25, but 25 is too exposed and risky for me, and the last five are nuts, set by someone other than Sean and they are crazy! Ok, enough of the bouldering, on to other things.
I have been gaming a little lately, played through the Italian Job with Tim, which was a lot of fun, minis rock! We also beat Prince of Persia, which was a phenomenal game over all, the playing with time, running on walls and other stunts were amazing and really added a new level to gaming, making it truly revolutionary. I guess the only other gaming of note has been a little Diablo II, which is all Lex's fault as she wanted to start playing again, which got me back into it, so now I am maybe 15% of the way through the original, which is cool, and I am really enjoying it, which is rare for me as far as games of this type go. Not really my normal fare, but fun all the same.
Hmmm, what else is new in life? Oh, as some of you may know already, in my all of a sudden free time due to not climbing, I went back to painting some of my models, which is fun, even if I suck! The shaking hands definately do not help in this case, but I make do. I also thought about finally doing my model canoe, but I think I may put that off until after Christmas as I want to make sure I have enough time to do it start to finish so as to ensure it doesn't get damaged.
I guess that is everything for this update, hopefully it will be a little less time between this one and the next! (but not promises)
