I feel it... dig it :) My poem to you all :D
It has been a long time
This road I'm on takes me further away
Can I still call you mine?
Would you remember how it was
And how it seemed like I was always
There to take away the pain
Like something new yet, strangely familiar
You are there
And tomorrow all evidence of you
May disappear
I'll remember when
You were always there for me
In the darkness of my soul
A light still lingers
I can't hold onto you
The way they say that memories shelter
You from forgetting
I try and try and it's a senseless, useless thing
And the tears are filled with longing
For something just... anything
A part of you I can hold onto
Dwell in the now
The past is only what you seek
In different shades of tomorrow
If you understand this
You'll know why this can never be
The reason you turned away from me
Is the solitude you seek
Now I'm falling
Hold onto this, whatever it may be
Know that you were forever and always
Part of me.
