answers to the ten otps meme.

answers to the meme here, because it's likely no one would be guessing them and I kind of want people to know. lol.

I wrote these trying to make them so that people who doesn't know the series can still understand them. But it's hard to write down every single reason why I ship these, so I went with mostly just explaining the sentences I wrote. Sometimes rambling longer because I got carried away.

answers:

  • an entire world binds them together with their own power.
    Takeru (T.K.)/Hikari (Kari) -- Digimon

They were the smallest kids in the first group of Digidestined. Both their digimon digivolve into 'angel' types, they are seen fighting alongside often, and they were the ones to bring down the miracle of warp-digivolving the first time around. They share a combined attack in their armor-digivolve states, and when Hikari asked for help when she was caught by a dark side of the Digiworld, she called Takeru over. They tend to travel and plan together, and by being Light and Hope, she's more sensitive to the things in the Digital World (she could see Digimon even when no one else could before they met their Digimon), and he was always the one that could survive till the end. So? Their powers bring them together with the Digital World.

  • only his thoughts were clear enough to pierce her heart and claim it.
    Yoh/Anna (Shaman King)

She could read minds, thus understanding the greed and ugliness in human hearts. But he came along and promised her that he would save her, and because he meant everything said even though he didn't like humans either, she believed him. Without loneliness, her power also disappeared, and she declared love for him ever since.

  • he brings out a childish side that no one else saw.
    Luffy/Sanji (One Piece)

Sanji's a womanizer (at least he tries to), and a mean cook with a powerful kick. He trades insults with his fellow cooks, calls his teacher and life-saver an old geezer, and barks demands at anyone not female, all the while never talking about his lifelong dream because he's afraid of someone laughing at him. But Luffy shares another dream just as silly, their mentors both lost a limb to save them, and Sanji smiled like a child when they were talking. Plus Luffy loves food and adventure, and Sanji provides food while going along Luffy's whims (providing lunch boxes despite Nami's protests? Yep, that's our Sanji). Shipped them ever since ♥

  • he saves her from her demon, and she saves him from his mind.
Robin/Raven (Teen Titans: the Animated Series)

When Robin went half crazed from a poison the enemy slipped him, Raven went into his mind using her empathy powers, reading parts of his memory before getting to his thoughts. To Robin, his identity is one of his most kept secrets, but Raven no doubt knows who he is, and Robin doesn't seem to mind. Ever since, Robin deemed it a 'mind meld', meaning they have parts of their minds melded together so that somehow, he's able to understand her better than anyone. When she accidentally stopped time, she reached for him, making him the only person 'alive' to save her. When her father - a demon that she was destined to unleash - came free, he went into the underworlds for her, carrying her all the way back to the upper world. They both understand darkness, and how the lines between good and evil aren't clear. Therefore? OTP. xD

  • it's illegal, but screw the rules, they're rich and own a theme park.
    Seto/Mokuba (Yu-Gi-Oh!)

Incest and underage. Makes me SO guily, but the way they dance around each other in the series makes me ship them! I rarely ship incest because, eh, ewwww, but this ship makes me understand. The 'screw the rules' part is from a fan's very famous Abridged Series where he made Seto say 'screw the rules, I have money!' because the brothers own KaibaCorps, one of the largest gaming companies in the world. And in this world, gaming is very serious business. So the Kaibas live in a large mansion with servants, fly around on a self owned jet, and built a theme park that was the brothers' dream. And then Seto builds a virtual game world where Mokuba plays a princess and the game's goal is to save him - oops, her. Then Seto gets stuck in the virtual world and Mokuba dresses up as the princess to save him. Oh wait, that was before the theme park.

  • they can always rely on each other, after their childhood friends betray them.
    Hitsugaya Toushirou/Matsumoto Rangiku (Bleach)

Rangiku's childhood friend, Gin, saves her from starving. Then he joined in the enemy because it probably sounded more fun to poke people to death. Hitsugaya's childhood friend didn't quite betray him, but because of a scam by the enemy, Hinamori pointed her sword at Hitsugaya. While things are going crazy around them, he's her captain, and she knows she can rely on him. She's his vice-captain, therefore would support anything he does. When he was still living on the streets, she was the one who spotted his talent - but after he became her captain, not once did she not respect him as 'captain'. They practically live together in their office. Also, age difference means nothing when you live to be thousands of years old. What's the difference between two hundred and three hundred, pray tell?

  • eternity, zombies, the ocean and a nice hat on top.
Jack Sparrow/Will Turner (Pirates of the Carribean)

Jack is searching for the fountain of youth at the end of the third movie, and Will's dead so technically he can kind of live forever, depending how you decipher the whole Davy Jones curse. This makes up the eternity part...they might be living alongside forever, heee. Zombies because they fought zombies together in the first movie, and the "nice hat" is because it's what Jack said to Will at the end of CotBP. I probably should have included swords and blacksmiths somewhere in there, but the films themselves had forgotten that Will's a blacksmith, so I think I can be pardoned?

  • he enjoys suicide, but only she can kill him.
    Itoshiki Nozomu/Fuura Kafuka (Zetsubou Sensei)

Nozomu's a high school teacher with an extremely negative, paranoid and pessimistic attitude. He excels at whatever he sets to do, but he despairs at the world and mostly just wants to live alone. He enjoys suicide because he thinks the world isn't worth living, but he doesn't truly want to die. So he trains himself to survive the suicides, for example by having a strong neck so he doesn't die by hanging. In comes Kafuka, a exceedingly optimistic student who sees everything in the most positive light ever. She calls hanging 'growing taller', and says that her parents are constantly growing. She also secretly dresses as a neighbor college student to Nozomu, bringing him leftover Curry (bringing a blush to his cheeks, indicating a crush) that gave him severe stomachache. Kafuka constantly attempts to 'save' Nozomu from his suicides, but it always ends up in making things worse, thus 'killing' him. In return, he shouts 'What if I died!' to her, pointing out that he doesn't really want to die. Whether she does it on purpose is unknown, but she occasionally lets out small smirks, pointing out that she does have a cruel streak to her. There has also been occasions that she receives radio contacts from aliens.

  • his soulmate's gone, her lover's dead, and they just might end up together.
    Simon/Yoko (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann)

In the first part of the series, Kamina plays a large part as both Simon's friend and mentor, and becomes Yoko's boyfriend/lover just hours before he went into the battle that killed him. Simon, having a crush on Yoko as well, watched Kamina and Yoko's first and final kiss. With his heart broken, he went into battle distracted, leading to Kamina's death. Guilty and sad, he later found his soulmate, a 'human' girl named Nia created by the original enemy that turned out was saving Earth by limiting the human population. In the final battle, the enemy of all Spiral beings (including humans) were destroyed, but because Nia was one of the enemy's portals to communication, she also disappeared after they managed a marriage. During all this time, Yoko went off to a remote island to teach, returning only when the final battle started. While she kissed another guy as a hopeful gesture, that guy also died...Anyway, in the epilogue, Simon is seen traveling the world while Yoko continues to teach. But who says they can't have ended up seeking each other out of comfort, and come to an understanding that allows them to stay together? Because of Simon/Nia and their true love, plus Kamina's powerful presence, it's like no one ships them at all. *cries*

  • violence, plus a hundred years of being family, is true love.
    Shinji/Hiyori (Bleach)

They knew each other from a long time ago, from when they were shinigamis living in Soul Society and Shinji watches out for Hiyori even when she doesn't care for protection. Whenever they meet, Hiyori greets Shinji with violence, hitting or kicking him in the face. Shinji frequently grabs her from her waist or hangs her upside down to punish her. But when the person Hiyori thinks of as mother is promoted to a position that would never allow her to return, Shinji seeks out the new captain of Hiyori's division to make sure things are going well for her. When things are finally looking alright, the enemy strikes, and though Shinji (and several others) rushes to save Hiyori, they were all both struck by something that made them part Hollow, taking away their human thoughts. They were saved from themselves, but banished from their original home. So the group of part Hollows (named 'Vizard' by themselves) lived banded together and hid in the human world. This went on for a hundred more years, and they're each other's family, plus Hiyori still more often that not kicks anything she doesn't like (or likes, including her friends and Shinji's face) and Shinji strikes back in return while making sure she doesn't do anything that can't be fixed.

, and that cheered me up by thinking of all those bubbly moments. ♥♥♥ xD
