Caesar and the pirates

I was sitting at the bar; it was after work. I ordered nachos, Phillip ordered a scotch. I settled on the summer ale. I look to my left and there is a big ass grin and the following words came out ... "Well, you know what Caesar did to the pirates?" I quickly learned I did not know. So for those of you like me:

At one point in his life, Julius Caesar was captured by pirates and they demanded 20 talents of gold for his release. A talent of gold is the amount of gold a single person can carry in case you were curious. So Caesar laughs at him and says he must be worth at least 50 talents, and the pirates were happy asking for more. In the interim between the capture and the return, Caesar chilled on the pirate ship (or whatever the proper idiom of the day was) and he took part in their drinking, gambling and general wolf-pack bantering. One night in between laughs and sips, Caesar wraps his arm around the guy sitting next to him and says:

"One day, when I am off this pirate ship, I am going to come back here and crucify every last one of you."

They all laughed that night, but I suppose Caesar was the last one laughing on that.
