I'm sitting in a cafe listening to French music sipping good wine and thinking about many things. Life is good--very good. It looks like I may visit Dublin which I am very excited about. Now let me tell you a bit about the logistics of biking up a mountain.

Last wednesday my friend Luigi (who lives on Via Mario, hilarious eh?) and I went biking up a mountain north of Verona and Vallpolicella (beautiful wine region). Biking up a mountain is a far different experience than across the planes of the midwest. At first it just seems like a lot of work so you switch down to a low gear to manage. Not so bad ... until after a few hairpin turns, your thighs switch over to anaerobic respiration. Gradually lactic acid builds up and eventually your thighs explode open and the ride is finished. At this point the only option is to return down the mountain. Down is easy ... except all of that work on the way up has left you drenched in sweat and the way down is fast and requires no work resulting in hypothermia. On the bright side, the view is nice :-)
