Up in Port Townsend

Rosie and I let Monday morning for the drive up to my mom's. We got here yesterday afternoon after a 2 day stop in Rosie's hometown of Partyville... of wait, no... Godawfulboringville (aka Corvallis) where we spent about an hour sightseeing and spent the second day going back to Newport (coastal town) and exploring there (and having really good steamed clams).

The whole drive was really nice. Unlike certain friends in Colorado who apparently have been battling snow to travel our whole trip up was rain and cold free except for about 20 miles worth. So we were able to bundle up, turn the heater on high and do the whole trip with the top down. It was really nice. And seriously lucky too, since our planning a few weeks ahead of time just happened to coincide with the weather patterns such that the two nasty weather days were the ones where we were in Corvallis.

So today Rosie and I start to figure out what to make my mom and Fred for the xmas dinner.

I brought my mom one of the old macs to use (a 3 year old powerbook) and she is quite thrilled to have a computer made in this century that she can also keep all her music and everything on. As she has been bugging me about how slow her old one is for that last 6 months. Its fun having a mildly computer geeky mom.

I hope everyone has a really good holiday!
